Word out of WA is that if Fremantle don't get Travis Cloke, they will throw $450,000-500,000 a year at our Sharrod Wellingham.
Given we stood by him through the TAC sponsorship thing before he played a game, do you think he will stay or go?
Surely we can't match them on contract value?
It may come down to either Travis or Sharrod. |

The go home factor might play a part.... but lets not forget he lives in the pockets of Buddy and Gibson so mates might keep him here. _________________ Beware the swooping Magpie. |

They already did. But I read this morning that Sharrod had said he wanted to re-sign with Collingwood on a lower offer. I'm pretty sure I read that in the Herald-Sun. But I can't give you a link because I read it in an actual newspaper in my regular coffee shop. If it helps, it was in a panel at the top-left of a left-hand page in the last few pages of the paper.
Meanwhile, I see this, syndicated from this morning's "West Australian":
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/-/afl/14358572/wellingham-happy-in-the-nest/
Sharrod Wellingham's manager has killed off speculation the Collingwood star could return home to play for Fremantle or West Coast next year, saying he is determined to remain a Magpie.
With key forward Travis Cloke's future causing concern for Collingwood management, the out-of- contract Wellingham had been linked to the Dockers and Eagles.
But his manager Carlos de Costa said Collingwood director of football manager Geoff Walsh offered Wellingham a three-year contract last week and the on-baller had no interest in leaving the club.
"I'll be discussing the deal with Sharrod in Melbourne when I go over to see him," de Costa said.
"At this point in his career, he's at a club that is showing great success. He's won a premiership with them and you've got to remember he was overlooked by both WA clubs and then got rookied (by Collingwood).
"I don't see Sharrod moving to Perth or any other club in the near future or any time soon.
"The contract negotiations have started strongly and I have told any club that has shown interest in Sharrod that I'll only talk to them if contract negotiations come to a stalemate."
Wellingham joined Collingwood as the 10th pick in the 2007 rookie draft. The 24-year-old has since become an integral part of Collingwood's line-up and he had 20 possessions and kicked two goals in their 2010 premiership. |

My post pointing out Pies 65 is a troll (never accused anyone of this on here) gets deleted while he's allowed to continue bringing the mood of this board down.
