Great news. Heard it while out on the boat today. Capped off a great day on the water.
Really, really happy about this.
Don't know if one thing had anything to do with the other but I was convinced mick signing with the scum would work in our favour.
A good rest for the players followed by a big pre-season all well and truly behind bucks without the malthouse distraction/loyalties.
Trav will monster em next year. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Okay he signed up now to improve the quality of supply to Travis and see what he's really capable of, let's hope he makes 2013 even better than 2011 and 2010 and nothing like 2009 and 2012. _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

I must admit I thought he was gone mid year and the way he was playing I wasn't all that sorry.
But his late season form and effort was sensational and completely changed my views on him. He is a contested marking machine and the key to our team. Now we know we've got him for the next half decade Bucks needs to restructure our forward line so we can make him even more damaging.
60 odd goals the last two years is a good effort and the fact he kicked that this year when he was poor for most of it and the forward delivery atrocious for much of it shows just how good he is.
With all this contract saga in the past next year and if we can give him some decent delivery and more one-outs instead of him getting double and triple teamed, Trav should be looking at 80-100 goals instead of 50-60 (barring injury) and if he gets that and a few others rediscover their zest then we might be busy this weekend next year instead of thinking what might have been.
Well done to Trav and the Club for reaching a compromise and putting all ego's and pigheadedness aside for the benefit of Collingwood. |

Before he signed, one of the articles had the figure as $3.7M over 5 years.
Guess that means $750K a year. |

I knew he was gonna sign right from the outset & said so. |
Thank goodness Travis signing is all about you |
Of course it's not about me you goose.
But there were a few on here who swore Travis was goneski.
They heard a rumour or read on Twitter that he burst a pimple on his hairy ass & 'cause of that he was destined to go to the Scum.
Or my personal favourite, the players didn't come up & congratulate him when he kicked a goal.
What a load of shit!
He was never gonna go to the Scum!
Why would COLL ever give the Scum the upper hand?

I just heard this when i came home tonight.Great news.I'm so relieved because the thought of a forward line that consisted of Dawes and possibly Quentin Lynch didn't fill me with any confidence at all.I think we would have tumbled down the ladder next year if Cloke had left us.
And best of all,we won't have to put up with the Cloke contract soap opera for another five years! |

Our most important player going forward is now safely secured for 5 years.

So glad that you have affirmed my belief in you Trav as a one club true loyal Collingwood player. I always knew you would even though so many tried to sow the seeds of doubt. You said you wanted to remain and you did. Lots of love to you _________________ Side by Side |

Spot on mate. You've summed it up beautifully. For a while there I didn't think about the contract situation but when the media attention about it intensified around round 17 and round 18 and he was in poor form, I started to doubt whether he would be a Collingwood player in 2013.
After the two parties reached an agreement 'to call off all discussions' until the end of the season, that's when the contract was most likely re-signed because Trav began to play better football at around the latter part of the season.
I'm relieved that he'll be staying and that Harry O has also re-signed _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

It's interesting that Cloke, on the Footy Show tonight, admitted that there was at least one contract meeting just before the finals. |
