Is it just me or has both swan and pendlbury had realy bad 1st and 2nd quarters this year by there standards.

I dont have the stats but it seems each game they dont do much till the second half when they need to.

Anyone remember a dominant first half by either of these two this year?

Both have been pretty disappointing overall compared to their usual standards. Hoping they both get into some good form as we'll need them at their absolute best for the next few weeks.

I get the feeling All clubs have a new approach to how they manage their players throughout the year and that includes us. Remember premierships are won in September and we were flat during finals last year. Both Pendles and Swanny are being played and rested in attack and deference for a lot more time during games and a lot less in the guts where we were used to seeing them. Ive noticed the Cats doing similar things. It seems that they go to Hawkins more in the second half if they need to break the game open, but tend use their other forwards and wingers more in the first half while the players are fresher. The game has become high tech in managing players and one thing for sure it is a myth that a player can be up and about all season with the pace of the game these days. Consider Bucks used to run half a marathon a game a few years ago but it was a different game with no press or zone defense.
