| Post subject: winning the flag from outside the top 4 nearly impossible |  |

In order to win the flag, we will likely need to beat Richmond, Geelong, Hawthorn and Sydney. that's a pretty tall order.
Edit: If we hold our spot, the task will be Port; Freo (away), Sydney and Hawthorn. In my mind this is significantly easier.

| There hasn't been a team win the GF outside the top 4 since adelaide way back in 1998 - they finished 5th that year. Not impossible, but a big ask all the same. Keep in mind however that we have beaten rich, geel and syd this year. The big test will be on friday night against the whorks. We're starting to click now. |

If you can win 4 games in a row, you can win the flag from 8th. Injuries, suspensions, anything can conspire to aid the process.

Even if you are on par with the 4 teams above you it's a 16/1 shot.

Sportsbet put us as $12 which is 5th behind the top 4 as it stands today. That could change dramatically if we win next Friday.

We've beaten three of those four teams the last time we played them.
I foresee a tragic GF loss, against the Hawks, where the umpires do what they do best against us on GF day.
If it takes the umps to get the Hawks over the line, I will be as proud as I was in 2002
In the meantime, we are going to enjoy the thrills of a ride very few thought we would be on two weeks ago.
