Collingwood: Beams, Sidebottom, Pendlebury, Blair, Swan, Lumumba, Macaffer
Three goals, under the packs, fearless. Love the wee man.
I honestly can't believe what I'm reading in some threads about how easily some would have him replaced. One of the best small men in the competition, his pressure is phenomenal and ability to win the ball in tough contests, kick goals. _________________ Billy Picken, the great No. 25 in the sky! |

Long term, I think he's on shaky ground. Short term, he was one of the best yesterday and couldn't possibly be dropped. In addition to his 3 goals, he was also responsible for White's goal (and only first-half touch). I love his effort and wish a few of the players who are twice his size would throw themselves at the contest in the same way.
He wasn't quite as good against Adelaide - but its fair to say that even in that game he did a better job playing CHF than White did roving. |

Yep he had a cracker.
Hopefully his turning point for the rest of the season.

Blair will probably get cited by the MRP for his hit on Mitch brown |

I thought he was amongst our best players too last night. Not our worst the week before either I sense.
Needs to hit the scoreboard as a small forward. No good just offering pressure acts. He did that very well last night.
Actually, I thought Sidey, Blair and Elliot were good as crumbing types last night. Something that a few of us have lamented this season.
Safe for now but still one of the more vulnerable players for mine.
Some bigger names like Cloke, Swan and Ball in particular have been a lot further off their best. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Great effort last night. I doubt we would have won without him. Like him as a player but at times despite his effort he has little impact.
This is an emerging side. Lot of new talent to be introduced over the next 18 months. We are not a to[ side 4 at the moment but have the potential with our current list to be a front runner in a couple of seasons. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Play like he did last night and he's fine ... he just needs to do it consistently (his defensive game plus hurting the opposition with scoreboard pressure either himself or thru assists) .. hopefully more and better to come |

He has played a couple of good games recently (last night and against Carlton), however for most of the year he's not been doing enough offensively. Not getting enough of the ball and not scoring or setting up enough goals. Yesterday's game was excellent, but it can't be a one off standout in a season. His defensive work is good but not so good we can completely ignore the offensive.
The issue I have is with playing Blair and Goldsack in the same forward line. We don't have enough creativity and offensive power up forward at the moment, and I think ideally one of these should be replaced. That could mean they both still play, just not both in the forward line. _________________ Well done boys!

Also, whoever did these "best" might want to watch the game again. They seem to have forgotten to include Maxwell. _________________ Well done boys! |

Blair has been solid all year if you ask me. Always contributing and getting in and under the packs. A real terrier. Go you good thing. _________________ The window is open my friend! |

Yes 6 goals for the year is fantastic!
martin gott 15 marks in the vfl yesterday
he is a better player than blair in my opinion
and yes he can play midfield where we have been
going backward of late. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |
