ummmmm. No.

Even though Cloke isn't hitting the stats sheet at the moment, he does play one important role. He continues to take the best opposition back.

This cannot be understated. How many kicks would White have got last week with Glass playing on him? minus 3 or 4??

Don't see what the point of putting Cloke back is when Reid returns. If they give each other enough space one of two things will happen. Reid will become our most effective forward or he will always require a defender leaving Cloke 1 on 1 most of the time. They both need each other for our forward line to be premiership worthy.

Pies went to Cloke on 3 occasions inside 50 on Saturday. Cloke was not double teamed for most of the match. He almost seemed like a deep decoy. McKenzie can handle him without a lot of extra help. Clearly he has had some extra attention but I think this perception he is up against 2-3 players is well overblown. Most of the time it is a wrestle between him and one other and this makes it easier for his opponent. he needs to move around a bit more to be more dangerous. If he is in front he is too strong to get around, can't be pushed in the back and can't have his arms chopped (in theory). He should try it a bit more often.

Glad that it is not only me who has sighted this weakness in Witts. I like him as a player and he has loads of time to develop his game but you'd think something like marking would be easier for him at his height.... Rolling Eyes

dawes struggled with this too for some time.

it's been nearly a year since we had the cloke to the backline discussion. it was roundly rejected then.

Tarrant was moved to the backline as a result of his poor goal kicking.

Cloke can't even get is hands on the ball at the moment and when he does he tends to turn it over. His errors in the forward usually don't result in goals kicked against us, different story if he's moved down back.

I'd rather see him in the 2's where he would hopefully kick a few bags and come back in with confidence.
