I just watched the club's latest injury report, but there was no mention of Freeman at all. Does anyone know what the latest is on his recovery?

I'm close to writing them both off for 2014, I'd be very surprised if they debuted this year.

I'd also be very surprised if Grundy debuted last year Smile.

Of the top 13 draftees from last years draft, only Scharenberg and Freeman have yet to debut.

I'm not sure I believe much of what comes out of Westpac regarding injuries, they do tend to tell some whoppers from time to time. Take Swanny, last minute withdrawal, but no doubt he'd be good to go next week. I think it was a rest or a disciplinary action with him & Grundy. Given that neither lit up the park against Adelaide and weren't much better last week, my guess is the former.

I'm starting to bend toward Defender's thinking when it comes to seeing the no.35 this year, I hope Freeman isn't in the same boat.

Never fear. Hine takes the long term view.

Reid, Brown, Dawes, even Pendles all took time to debut then cement their position. In 3 years time we won't care that they didn't play in their first year, because they'll be guns of the competition

Question

Scharenberg may not play this season and Moore is our likely first rounder next year.
Does Scharenberg retain 35 (given he did not debut) or does Moore take it?

Alternately does Moore take the currently unallocated 30 which his father occupied?

It's a mystery.... Shocked

But in all seriousness. Scharenberg going from indefinite to 3 weeks is huge. If he's as good as everyone says he is and he starts playing VFL this month there is still a good chance he could debut by years end imo.

Freeman listed as 3 weeks away on AFL site.

Then again he was listed as 3 weeks about 8 weeks back so believe what you like.

I'm going with the mindset now he wont be seen at all this year at any level and anything else will be a bonus.

On brighter news Scharenberg is listed as 3-4 weeks with the only downside being so was Freeman 8 weeks ago.

LOL.

It'd go to next year's first rounder, I'm guessing. But, I'm sure they could find an exception if they wanted (say, if Moore is taken F/S, they might choose to give it to our first 'live' pick).
