You're hard on Dawes there, he was a vital cog in 2010 but couldn't cope with trying to play 2nd ruck in 2012 and lost form and confidence.

It's a very hard exercise. Especially after the top 10 or so. I reckon I've just about nailed the 50 but the order is a nightmare.

Caracella perhaps should be in there.

Jeez when I look at our 2002 GF side we had some battlers in there. Amazing job to make it and push the Lions all the way really.

I think Leon probably stiff not to be top ten too.

I'd like to see what others reckon.

I'd have Holland ahead of a few on that list.

Oops, didn't see him there.

Depends on their criteria. Are we rating them as a player or on their contribution, eg games played etc. It looks like the latter, but L.Brown, Lonie and Macaffer ahead of N.Brown and Sidebottom seems wrong.

And Scotland Shocked. Surely you're not counting scum games, they should count in the negative not positive.

Edit: Hang on, even Ben Reid is behind Macaffer Shocked.

Criteria can be whatever ya want. Longevity, consistency, importance to the team, GF appearances, Copelands, premierships. I just went with gut. Rearrange em then. Its your top 50 and It's a challenge I tells ya.

Just realised I left out Jolly too.

Presti ahead of Cloke? I love Presti but I could never put him ahead of Clokey.

Well, I'd have our third Brownlow medalist of the century in there. I think that's enough to elevate his career above the likes of Marty Clarke Wink.

Fun to do - and surprising how few players we've actually had across the 21C so far. Perhaps 150 ? That suggests to me that top 25 is probably as far as you can go, without making hard-to-defend distinctions, and you're scraping it past 40 (no disrespect to the bloke in that group, they played AFL and I didn't, but were making judgements about relative greatness, here).

I'd have had Mal Michael on the list, for his career at the Brions. And Paul Williams was a real star - probably should be higher, I regret to say.

Tarrant's too high in your list, for mine - he had some good seasons, but across his career was too inconsistent to be as high as that : 20-30 group. At his best, absolutely top 10, but...

Swan is probably #2 behind the great Nathan, in my book, with Pendles #3. By the end of his career, I suspect Pendlebury will be #2. No disrespect to gentleman Jimmy C, but I think the other three were probably more valuable.

I'd have Sidebottom higher, above Toovey and >>>> Wellingham!

I may be biased, because he's the most exciting player we have in my eyes, but Billy Elliott is also higher already, for mine (30-40 group). Not many players are matchwinners, and this boy has already been a matchwinner on multiple occasions.

Darren Jolly belongs on the list, probably ca 35 or so.
