With Maxy injured early in the game against the saints and Swan and Ball rested we had a look at the near future Pies team with Lumumba at 28, the oldest player out there in the black and white!

Although we are clearly a young side we also have plenty of quality young guys and plenty of players at their 'peak'... crucial ingredients which indicate I believe we are in the premiership window right now- with a bit of injury luck!

Players past their peak - but still delivering quality for now...
Swan, Ball, Maxy

Players at Peak
Lumumba, Pendles, Cloke, Tooves, Dwyer, White, Reid, Young, Goldsack, Sidey, Beams, Blair, Brown:(

Players yet to peak... but able to deliver!
Grundy, Witts, Frost, Keefe, Langdon, Williams, Thomas, Seedsman, Faz, Elliot, Sinclair

Players a fair way from peak
Thomas, Adams, Kennedy, Martin, Freeman, Sherrinberg, and others...

Clearly we have plenty of players around their peak and others who are not at their peak but able to deliver quality that we can and should be a threat come finals time this year. With some luck with injuries (which the Pies are due) we could see this very young but somewhat experienced team go a lot further than most expected!

Cool

Mmm - Thomas interesting case - he is probably between the 2 groups - start of the year form was a long way from what his peak potential will be... but last week and a few games last year he certainly delivered!

It is one thing to talk of "peaks" but not all players get there. Also you can't rule out injuries etc.

The only thing i know is that allot of winning a flag is something you can't train for or predict. "Luck"

Just ask St.Kilda .....luck lost them a flag....but for the bounce of a ball.

I don't disagree that we are a good age bracket. and i agree on the fact that we have allot of players that could be anything.

Watching an umpire levitate into the air and then split into multiple pieces would be cool.
