FWIW, here's my preferred defensive unit:

B: Williams Keeffe Maxy

HB: Langdon Frost Seedsman

I'd have Young and Lumumba play on the wings, providing added defensive pressure, run and carry out of defense when needed.

I'm assuming Seedsman will only get better and better as the season progresses and he gets fitter.

Can't disagree with that. Sinclair though, will challenge Williams. And who knows what we'll do if Scharenberg is fit?

I think they both might miss the boat this season.

Which means, our seconds should go a lot deeper into the finals this year.

Yep, looks good with maybe Tooves or Broomhead as 7th.

Barring another injury, Sinclair will play senior footy again this year. Still plenty of time left.

Scharenberg's less certain, but Grundy was in the same boat last year.

Underselling Toovey, he's a gun defender.

I'd actually not realised Toovey was missing. Knew there must have been someone. I reckon he's an almost certain starter, but it shows how well Langdon's going that we'd consider him a chance to miss.

Scharenberg Keefe Toovey
Seedsman Keefe Williams

I realise the Berg probably won't play his first AFL match till we've got around five games to go but I'm betting he is going to be so damn good he will be in our team by the finals.

Lachie is a great player but I doubt he can hold down both key defensive spots at once.

For mine, based on form this year, Langdon is actually our number 1 defender and Frost number 2. So I consider those two locks unless their form drops.

The vulnerable ones are Williams and Seedsman, and I guess Toovey. Seeds could possibly play up the field.

Tooves is a must have come finals, anyone who runs with the flight of the ball head first into an oncoming Hawkins (and his knee) is made of the right stuff for finals!

Me too Sad

Assuming everyone us fit, match committee will be tough

^^Yeah, I expect Maxwell and Toovey to both be there. I get the feeling that Seedsman is a chance to be a finals sub. Certainly so far his fitness isn't quite at the required level for a full game. Could be very damaging as a sub.
