Give up queens birthday

Fwiw, the queens birthday fixture is more trouble than it's worth. Every year we have 6 day turnarounds which impacts recovery. Let someone else play the Dees. We don't need practice playing in front of big crowds. We do it almost every week. If never want us to give up Anzac Day and by giving up QB there'd be less whinging.

It is Melbournes Grand Final. It is their money game.

I'm not too keen on waiting all weekend to get to the game either.

Also it would get another side to stop whinging about Anzac Day. (Which would make three teams if they go ahead with Good Friday).

This game has no value to us, except that we've managed to win most of them. But the Demons have been a basket case for most of that time.

How it effects the following weeks game, I don't know?

Agree completely. They won't come out and say it but they will be up in arms if we decided to give that game away to someone else as they won't make as much money off it. As far as I'm concerned their free ride should have been over a long time ago, scrap it.

The inevitable shit storm that would follow if we and another team that isn't Norf got the good friday game would be pretty amusing. If they're serious about making money for the Good Friday Appeal, then of course we should be involved. Would rather lose money to ACTUAL charity than to that boring basket case of a club they call Melbourne.

We are always under the pump week in week out with clubs playing their "grand final" against the Pies.

Sick of it. Happy to play Friday night on QB weekend so we can enjoy the day off rather than going to footy.
