I know its been a few years but remember how good he was with the kick outs from full back>? We struggled here today and have done for some time. This problem gives the opposition encouragement of getting the ball back instead of panicking like they did when Neon kicked out. He was fantastic at it, we need someone else to be able to do this role. The attacks start from here.

Our set play today was to go 15.1 metres to the boundary, then bomb it long to an outnumbered player.

We need to hit targets firstly and then try to break lines from there. Leon could do that.

This is a massive problem for us and will cost us a top 8 position, we also have another problem the other way when we get a point. Hawthorn went coast to Coast from our point at least 8 times today.. Not all resulting in a goal but gee putting pressure on our back line.

Love Leon. One of my all-time faves. He wouldn't have made a difference today though. At the time, back a few years, Leon was supreme with the kickouts. We are playing the kinder kids down back as we have no choice.......as the experienced players are injured.

Our setups are wrong on the field, we are too defensive. We get a run on from the backline up past the centre, then we have sweet fresh air to kick to in the forward 50............sheets me to death!!!!!

Go the Pies!

He left because he wanted more money. Not Pickering's fault by any means. His family was in WA and it was going to take a hell of a lot more for him to stay.

A player with the elite foot skills of Leon are few and far between and only come on every so often. Personally, I don't think we'll ever see a better kick of the footy in the black and white for quite some time to come. Although Shazza's kicking has got a bit of hype about it. Once he comes on he'll be more than a decent backman who can perform this task for us that we're desperately lacking.

Bucks kicking was better than Leon's. No-one reached Buck's benchmarks tho in fairness to Leon.

Bucks was a great kick, but his decision making was below Leon's IMO.

Davis was a better than average footballer, except when it mattered. There's no need to rewrite history.

At the end of the day I think he left because he'd had enough, he walked on water in 2011, most dominant small defender I've seen. Ever.

Either way we weren't going to win the 2012 flag, with hindsight it was probably better for us he left.
