Now to find that christian virgin for sacrifice Wink

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passover

Passover or Pesach (/ˈpɛsɑːx, ˈpeɪsɑːx/;[4] from Hebrew פֶּסַח Pesah, Pesakh), is an important biblically derived Jewish festival.

...The Jewish people celebrate Passover as a commemoration of their liberation by God from slavery in Egypt and their freedom as a nation under the leadership of Moses. It commemorates the story of the Exodus as described in the Hebrew Bible especially in the Book of Exodus, in which the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. According to standard biblical chronology, this event would have taken at about 1300 BCE (AM 2450)

Starts tomorrow night (when the first 3 stars are out) great tucker...

Happy Easter to the believers & non believers.

BTW, I still like the idea of not having footy on Good Friday & like it that most shops are closed.

Thanks WPT! I miss having Passover dinner at home. Perhaps I'll have one with Lola and Ingmar this year (who are actually Jewish, thank Elohim). Smile

Yeah - Happy Whatever you call it. That you Celebrate.

Easter is just a thing that Stores have used as an Excuse to sell Easter Eggs.

I dont Celebrate anything but For people who do, Hope you have a Good Weekend

Mind you that wont save you when the next Hitler comes along Wink

Having said that there's quite a movement in the US that wants to get rid of the matrilineal determinant of who is Jewish. That is, make either parent not just the mother determine who is jewish. Of course that goes down like a pork chop in Chabad like orthodoxy.

Thanks DTM. These days I do it out of respect for my mother. Mind you her chocolate hazelnut cake made without flour is to die for. Indeed that might literately be the case in a few years if I don't resist temptation Wink

The 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston was always my favourite movie as a kid, then I found out that Jews were never slaves in Egypt, Egypt never even had slaves, the Pyramids were built up to 2000 years earlier than the 'exodus' by well payed Egyptians and there is no evidence for any plagues.

My path to the atheist darkside was then complete. Twisted Evil

Happy Abrahamic religious festival/Pagan harvest festival.

Yep, happy passover, happy Easter, happy Holidays.

I'll avoid the most boring day of the year by driving to mums place tomorrow. That will at least kill a few hours. Hopefully the NRL game is on Austar since there's no AFL to watch. Wink

You mean the STORY of Noah's Ark hadn't already done that for you?

Noah's Ark always felt like a fairy tale to me, but watching Charlton's Moses just made it all seem so real and believable. Hollywood just can't do a biblical epic like they used to.
