Balmy saying Rusty could be back this week if he passes fitness test...will be a big in for us...has been sorely missed.

hopefully his thumb has healed enough.

Does anyone know how they do a fitness test on a thumb??

When the two boys came at 2009 draft it was Rusty (Steele) & Laser (Beams)

That was always the aim, get back by the Richmond game.

Back in 1990, Matthews fitness-tested Millane's thumb by tossing him a football... to his healthy hand. Laughing

But I think testing would probably have improved since then, though...

Will need a couple of weeks to find his feet I'd suspect.

He has had that nickname since junior footy days.

Most people around Shepp refer to him as Rusty.

You are given 100 thumb tacks, a pin board and a time limit.

If we really wanted to do a fitness test on him I can suggest an arm wrestle with a guy I played footy with. This guy won the World Championship in Las Vegas for arm wrestling. That would test it. Funny thing is this guy, Nick never went to a gym. Just spent years working in a quarry in Melbourne.

Or we could do the 1990 Millane test and get him to arm wrestle Nick with his good hand.

This from Twitter

@AFL_BenGuthrie

Notes from Pies training: Cloke stayed back after session to work on set shots, Sidebottom (thumb) still struggling to grip the footy.
