I went along to training last night. There were maybe 200 people there. The boys seemed relaxed. They went through a slow warm-up, with the pace building. Voices were good; shooting for goal pretty much reflected what we see in a game.

I had to reduce the photos to get them on here. Sorry about the quality.

Gentle warm-up.

Buckley took the players away from the crowd to address them.

Small but enthusiastic crowd.

I have a good feeling about this game. Port will come out like an express train in the first quarter, but if we can be within two goals of them at quarter time, we'll win. (I hope.)

Did Marley train? Rumours circulating that he won't play and will likely be replaced by Scharenburg.

If he's out, I'd rather move Oxley back into defence and bring in Kennedy. We will need pace against Port, which I guess is why we didn't bring in Grundy. While I'd love to see Scharenberg debut, he's not terribly quick, whereas Marley is a fast running ball carrier.

Pace indeed. I think the biggest danger for us is that a fired up Port will jump us and get off to a flyer. So we need to put the clamps on early and tackle, tackle, tackle.

Also failing that, put constant and relentless pressure on the ball carrier. Our goals from opposition turnovers are still high so we must ensure that this is a scoring opportunity not to be missed.

Just don't give them the corridor; that's how to beat Port.

Play with the same intensity we have over the last 2 weeks and we win, and win well, I just hope we aren't a bit drained from our recent efforts.
