Post subject: Gillion ridicules Eddie | |
|
Gillion today addressed the national press club in Canberra. He declared new policies in regards to new zoning for ethnic and indigenous areas.
He was asked a question had the clubs made any comments about how the new found wealth should be divided.
He answered "yes Eddie rang me earlier and said he completely trusted me and the commission to make all decisions and he would be happy with any thing we decided upon which was gracious of him"
The journalists in the room started laughing and he smiled and grinned like a moron.
Why they cheap shot on Eddie on a national stage ?
Does he feel Eddie's power is so immense he has to take pot shots at him on a national stage ?
Is this just the beginning of a new concentrated assault on our president who takes the battle to the AFL on issues he believes aren't in the best interests of Collingwood ?
Does this record TV deal give him and the AFL the financial powers now to align the poor clubs against the more powerful vocal clubs ?
For mine I think it was completely unacceptable for the person who is the face of the decision making process of the AFL to take a cheap pot shot at the president of the games biggest club.
Message heard Gillion it's you and your TV money against Collingwood and Eddie.
Game on dill let's see what your TV deal would be worth with out the likes of Collingwood being successful |

Has anyone heard anything about how the fans are going to be better off thanks to this new deal? |

Yes dangles to make it simple they don't care.
They won't do anything because the money is in now so they have 6yrs to do nothing for the fans again because all the money comes from TV so crowds aren't the most important thing anymore so the fans will just be a small part of there thoughts now.
Sorry dangles but they just don't care they have shown over the past decade now |

If it's just a wry comment on Eddie being a thorn in the administration's side, then we should welcome it. It means that our president is doing his job. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

That's a shame. They could've made going to the footy more affordable in terms of the cost of tickets and food. They also could've made more Grand Final tickets available to members of the competing teams.
As for his crack at Ed, he's probably getting ahead of himself because he's mates with Murdoch now. |

It was just lighthearted in response to a question about lobbying from clubs for their piece of the pie. He said there would be no issue since all the clubs were demure with no alpha males and that Eddie had already indicated anything decided upon was fine by him. |

Great sense of humour guys, some of you would be great audience members at stand up gigs,
And if some bothered to read the paper they would know that the afl is planning on putting a lot of money into grassroots footy, looking at ways to make footy more affordable for fans, and getting Etihad back so that Collingwood can stop propping up clubs on shitty stadium deals there _________________ McRae for Governor-General! |
