What difference should that make?

Public are set to be screwed.

3 games out of 9 most weeks is a disgrace.

Foxtel are looking to sell one more game each week to 9 or 10, so there may be 4 FTA games on anyway.

Not much of a difference to those in the Melbourne market, as the 4th game that has been lost was the delayed Saturday game that no one watched anyway.

There's absolutely nothing in this new deal for the public to get excited about. But the clubs and the players will obviously be happy because there's a lot more money available to them.

So with all that money coming in they won't need a Collingwood tax. They can just give a couple mil every year to the weaker clubs. I suspect though the AFL bureaucracy will get much bigger and swallow the extra cash.

That money warrants big ratings.
Only a cynic would suggest that the AFL are looking to make the eastern interstate clubs even more competitive.

Now the AFL can afford to shed a few corporate dollars and make more Grand Final tickets available to the members of the competing clubs. Should be great. Wink

So the AFL rather people watch games on TV. Rather then going to the Ground then.

TV only has sport and news left, so they need this deal.
After 10 more years I doubt whether TV will be viable.
It is the Internet or bust.
Remember the telegram?
Probably the last great AFL rights deal.

on afl360 which, no doubt, you would have seen they mentioned that foxtel had the right to onsell one game and ten is likely to pick it up.
