I have tried to do so unsuccefully in the past, the closest I got was an adapter that plugged into my iPad and the into a hdmi cable and finally my tv. But the resolution was not good enough. Still it was quite watchable on my iPad.mm

Btw the way thanks for this Jw. I had only just cancelled my subscription at the end of last year as I only used it now and then. Signed back up since it was free and connected no worries

It's charging me $4.95 a week. So it's not free?

if you did it right and look under your account you'll be subscribed to a weekly pass but your next renewal date is not until 31/01/2017.

So yes it's free.

Good news, been a few years since I tried through Apple TV. Initially Apple TV was not able to do this. Obviously they have now allowed it. Will have to give it a try. Cheers.

It's a free pass for 2016. Something is wrong with your pass.

If I remember correctly it was changed so replays would work on Apple TV but not live games.

the irony is i am a vf customer. have asked my brother to sign up.

i did some reading and apparently there's two types of accounts - one through the app and the other not. if you subscribe through the app it will only play on the device of the app and cannot be streamed to a tv.

Unfortunately I am not with Telstra...I had the AFL Live Pass on my iPad for a couple of seasons and it worked well through the Apple TV to my TV. It cost about $80 per season subscription!

This year I will be spending April, May and June in Canada and so the AFL Live Pass is not an option. I will need to look for other options.

I set it up too, but thought I was paying $4.95 per week.

Sideloaded the AFL app onto my android tv box (nvidia shield tv). Connected the box to my phone (setup as hotspot). Full screen steaming for free (as it's streaming over Telstra 4G) and the quality is great. Winning. Free live footy this year.

Only thing I needed to do was use a wireless mouse to select live games part of the app as the afl don't have a native android tv app (I couldn't select that part of the screen using the box remote, that required the mouse).

Actual quality is better than above, shot I took a bit blurry.

Have confirmed with Telstra that it will not count towards my data allowance as long as the phone is running as a hotspot.
