Well, the media is waxing lyrical about the new debutantes for the swans and the deeees, so it got me thinking. Now swannie is virtually gone for the season, it might be time to blood a couple more kids.

WHO are our most likely debutantes for this season, and what positions do they play, and are they ready for the big time, like those two kids from the swans were. Question Confused

We won't have many because we have played so many young players in the last couple of years. This is actually a good thing.

Our debutants will mostly be new players to the club like Treloar, Aish and Howe. As you know we didn't have many picks in last years draft.

Cox the obvious choice as Witts was embarrassing and Cox was the next best ruck during pre-season.

I'd love for Cox to take the next step and get promoted, 'if' the time comes during the season that finals are out of reach I'd promote him and play him every game, he/we will learn a hell of a lot more about his future prospects if he's playing at the highest level.

Of this years draftees, Phillips has probably shown the most thus far. Personally I'd like to see Sier or Wills, but if it's a 'spark' we're after its more likely Phillips or Crocker.

I agree. Cox is a real talent and could be an emergency by, say, 2023.

With Swanny out, Cox could get promoted if he gets a string of decent VFL form behind him.

I love his potential but he has to show he can do it.

He's one player I reckon would be better at AFL level than VFL level. Surrounded by the better players he'd really blossom but he has to show willingness to graft at VFL first.

our list at the commencement of the round was relatively healthy and form not really an issue so there was no need to debut anyone.

swanny's injury opens up the door for aish to debut.
