This isn't a whinge. The Bulldogs beat us fair and square within the rules. But let's face it. Two of our guys have ended up in hospital with potential season ending injuries. Another has his hamstring torn off the bone while another is concussed. Look again at the hits that caused the injuries. The Bulldogs are one of the hardest tackling sides in the AFL together with North Melbourne and those hits reflect how hard the Bulldogs tackle the opposition. Then you have a side like Sydney who come from a rugby state and they hit you hard as well. Swan has his legs taken out under him in the first game and has no way of preventing the fall and a season ending foot injury. No surprise that Bulldogs, North Melbourne and Sydney are in the top four.
So I think our first priority in the off season should be to train rugby style and learn how to tackle the opposition the way the top sides tackle us. We have Melbourne Storm next door to us. Surely we can use their expertise to teach us how to tackle. I think we have one of the best gyms in Australia. The gym makes you fit and lean and adds muscle tone to your body. But working out in a gym doesn't cushion your body from from the high force collisions you seem to be getting in AFL these days.

Coaches have been working on toughness/pain threshold drills at training for years.... here's a bit of footage I took at their recovery session this morning

They were mainly collision injuries, nothing to do with tackles , just bad luck.
