Next day up in Ballarat Rupert Will's unleash's one from behind centre to
lob and roll through---they are saying 100+meters.

Rupert has been getting good wraps I believe

Over 100m seems a bit of a stretch... how big is the ground?

A kick from the centre of Waverley aka VFL Park would be 100m but most grounds are not 200 m long.

Still pretty good effort from Rup though- I thought Josh Smiths long goal was also a pleasant surprise and the Pies goals gnerally were excellent against the Giants.. Caff's snap around the body goal was a beauty and topped off a great game for him shutting down Shaw and contributing on the scoreboard!

No, you need to watch the footage. He was actually in Lidiard St when he took that shot.

He was on the edge of centre 50 meter square when he unleashed his bomb
so that 50 plus the 50 meter forward arc.

That totals 100 meters but the ball landed before 10 meter kick off line and rolled thru so possibly 80 meters airborne i guess

WPT said there was wind assistance to that end...

My mate went to the game and reckons Rupert happened to be going past on the train to Melbourne when he decided to have a ping toward the goals at far end.

Said he got a couple of very favourable bounces but it still traveled all of 1.6, 1.7 kilometers.

Surely that's just the lad being a self-deprecating team-player? I could have sworn that I saw the Victor Richardson Gates just visible in one shot.

I represent that remark.

Wills was in Bacchus March when he took a snap-shot towards goal

no doubt there will be 35,000 others (out of camera shot) who will vouch to being there and seeing it with their own eyes.

Well the video don't lie. I was at the game and...
Oh, wait, I'm in queensland, but I WAS listening to the call (Awesome performance from young Roop and the Magoo boys who are now equal first but with a shit percentage like the ones), and it certainly sounded like it went 100KM, I mean 'M'. As the ball heads his way Roop is standing near the oppo 50, and by the time he lets fly he's maybe 5m inside the square.
I assume someone has been out there with an extra long tape measure and done the job?
Reminds me of Ryan Lonie at the 'G, taking the pill from a back well inside the oppo 50, taking off at light speed, two bounces, and BANG from just past the centre circle. Only the ump was there to see it roll through for an incredible chiko.

Eat sh*t Jeff Fehring!!

Oops - my bad! Embarassed
It was JW who remarked that the boundary throw-ins went askew, in the other thread, and not WPT. That'll teach me for not checking my "sauces"... Confused
