Are family reasons the footballers equivalent of "personal reasons" us common folk use as a get out of jail free card whenever we want to wag a day of work or an appointment.

As soon as a footballer states family reasons we are seemingly not allowed to dare question him further.

Brown, Frost and Marsh.

Ouch our key position defensive stocks have taken a hit.

I'd love to know what the story is here. Sad to read about.

I had high hopes for Marsh though his x-factor seems to have been diluted by the coach and/or injury.

Hopefully gets another chance and is given more freedom to run and run and run.

Oh christ no! Surely not? The kid is a future gun who we've put a lot into. I thought the lack of a deal in WA meant he was staying. If this is what is happening it just means another great player who we've lost and got nothing for.
What is going on? Do we just have the most incompetent idiots in the game running the club? Or does everyone recognise that we're gonna be cellar dwellers for the foreseeable future and they're jumping ship.

Pretty sure the last 5 years have been the worst of at least my lifetime, and all the signs say there's more misery to come. And we have such a great list of players with no one to lead them. So sick of seeing other sides doing the innovating and smart thinking while we plod on like a half-dead draft horse, only interested in idiotic money-making ideas.

Could this day get any worse?

Really sad news, mostly for Jono Marsh as it must be very difficult circumstances for him.

I had thought he would remain on the list in the hope the family reasons sorted themselves out in the next 6 to 18 months and he could continue to grow and be a valuable player for the Pies.

His delisting may have been to free a spot on the senior list for another signing or promotion...

Given the mutual agreement, could there be an understanding of him being rookie listed while his family reasons are resolved? Or would intention to rookie list have been mentioned in the delisting?

I would not be surprised now that we sign Salvagni in the next DFA Period with Marsh gone

Lets cut to the chase here.

It was reported here or on Big Footy that he broke down in front of all after our last game and spoke about how hard summer is because he has no friends/support here in Melbourne, as I recall ?

Seems like a failure of:
player leadership group
coaching group
player development
club culture

Very disappointing to be losing Marsh, but his personal well being and family comes before the CFC so I wish him all the best for the future and hope at some point he can return to AFL, because in my opinion he has too much footballing ability to waste in the WAFL.
