Is it me or is it true that a number of teams including us
are employing the long bomb out of the goal square when the opposition scores a point.
It has always been around but this year with the high press it seems to be employed much more often.
Goldy is our man when it comes to the big bomb up the guts.

Yeah I think this is on the increase generally. A lot more risks are being taken to break out of the back half. A 60 metre kick is no less risky than a string of handballs to players on the move in pressure spots.

Ironically, when Sydney tried the long bomb late, it was Goldy's timely double fister that helped us ice some crucial time. Might have got a hand on the next one too iirc

And I'd prefer him to kick long every time; too many of those short kicks aren't hitting the target, and often cost us a quick goal on the turnover.

Didn't the Doggies get in some trouble with their dinky little kicks and handballs from kick ins last night?!

The long bomb thrown in now and then can be a very useful weapon.

Was it 2011 when he had 76 or so kickins with zero clangers.

Yep. And all-australian half back flanker in 2011.
Great kick and good decision maker.
