I had the pleasure of meeting Wattsy when I did some plumbing work for him about 25 years ago. A dead set good bloke. You'll be missed old mate.

WA football and broadcasting legend John K Watts dies aged 80

Watts played 166 games for East Perth between 1954 and 1962 and was a three-time premiership player for the Royals. He then moved to Geelong from 1963 to 1965, playing in the Cats’ 1963 flag.

A policeman during his days with East Perth, Watts moved into the media after his playing career was over and had long-time career on both radio and TV.

He was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer in 2011, after previously having prostate cancer

I think he did Billy Cokebottle as well.Which upset certain groups but the average Indigineous bloke thought was hilarious. He also wrote a chapter in the Footballer who laughed.

He didn't do Billy Coke bottle, that was Louis Beers. Wattsy was however, a great comedian.

After leaving football, Watts went on to have a successful career in radio and television. Over 30 years he worked for various television and radio stations and was a popular comedian. John wrote most of his own material and would go on to write jokes for famous comedians such as Bob Hope and Harry Secombe and published magazines and joke books.
