As well as the mighty Daics, Marngrook featured Ross Brewer, the hero of the 1981 first semi final. Also the bloke they swapped Phil Carman for...

This game has significance for me for many reasons. A week before, my girlfriend dumped me, so I was looking for some redemption at the footy with my arty friends, before driving to Queenscliff to see one of them perform. At the 20 odd minute mark it was 1970 GF reborn as the boys had given up a 7 goal lead and Fitzroy led by 11 points. Life had never looked blacker. Fortunately Daics and Brewer kicked two miracle goals and from the blackest day it turned into the greatest game I'd ever seen!

Sadly the footy gods were not finished with me. My car broke down on the way back to Canberra the following day and was stuck in Seymour for 2 days. The lobster I purchased in Queenscliff was thrown out, for the benefit of some factory cats in Sunshine. Also Peter Moore did a hamstring, ruining our chances in the big game in 2 weeks!

I want to find the video of Daicos kicking a top goal against Carlton in 1990 at VFL Park. I think Millane too the intercept mark and kicked it to Daics who goaled from 70m.

I recall that well mate, but he did actually kick a better goal in that game. We were just above it, standing with my sons footy coach, and his assistant, both Pies fans. We were sinking a few too many cans of fosters, full strength in those good ol days, and I recall Daics got the ball, eluded tom alvin brilliantly, dummied him, skipped around him, then from the boundary, could not see daylight lobbed it in the square and it bounced thru, he did this many times too. I recall my pissed buddy, after we cheered like buggery, told all Caaaaarlton fans they could all piss off right fuckingnow, as the goal made us 9 goals too 1, from memory. What a day, and to think that flog tim Watson has the gall to rate eddie betts over daicos, what a tool, Daicos was streets ahead of eddie, in magic goals. Very Happy

I think there's every chance. Will definitely tune in to the next show if that happens.
