We are the biggest and proudest club in land.

Why are we 5th in AFL for members ?

I’ve been a paid up member for 25 years and have never dropped regardless of team performance.

I am embarrassed about this result, this is really disappointing given are performance on field.

More people need to go from supporter/barrackers to members to make our club the strongest and biggest in land again.

To be expected after missing finals for several years and most pundits expecting us to finish near the bottom this year. After what we have achieved this season, however, I reckon you'll see a very big jump in our membership next season. Basically, memberships tend to jump AFTER a team has enjoyed a really good season - hence the Tigers 100,000 members this year, not last year when they won the flag.

So we didn’t sell enough memberships to babies and family pets. Who cares? 75,000 is heaps.

They should publish membership revenue by team instead. 40,000 18-game memberships is better than 80,000 3-game memberships.

AFL MEMBERSHIP BREAKDOWN 2018
Total AFL members: 1,008,494

Without the spin, "ACTUAL" Membership are as follows:
11-game home membership: 345,079
Home and away membership (at least 16-17 game memberships): 111,554 = 456,623 AFL CLUB MEMBERS

The "FUDGED" figures to increase the numbers or stretch the truth are as follows:
Five-game, general admission or less than 11 game membership: 121,413
Three-game membership: 151,186
Remaining membership categories: 279,261 (member of a club without entry rights (email Address), AFLW member, Auskick membership, stadium member or AFL member)

I call it clever accounting, so cut the AFL figures (spin) in half and your on the money.

Exactly. Gross membership numbers is pointless.

^ If we care enough, we can note current prices of the different packages and estimate from the membership revenue, which will be available at some point if it's not already.

Revenue figures would be interesting, but it's a little disappointing we've stagnated on the membership front despite missing the finals for four years.

2013 = 80,000
2014 = 80,793 (+793) = RECORD
2015 = 76,497 (-4,296)
2016 = 74,643 (-1,854)
2017 = 75,879 (+1,236)
2018 = 75,507 (-372)

I expect to see a surge next year after a much improved season.
