If she was managing a walking stick (I assume she had prosthetic legs on) I can only assume Ed didn't see that and was making some lightweight banter about her ability to toss a coin in the belief she was an able bodied person.

If he knew she was disabled it wouldn't be a good look.

If his tone of voice conveyed a seriousness not required over the issue of coin tossing then he needs to have a Bex and a lie down.

Hopefully it was just a foot in mouth moment with no disrespect ever intended.

I commented at the time to my girlfriend saying not being able to toss a coin is un Australian. It was a general comment that was not meant to be offensive to anyone but just a throwaway comment. I could throw 2 up pennies when I was 8 . Not hard. Its a money making scheme that to be honest we can do without.They want to speed the game up and have this waste of space. Years ago the captains did it sometimes in the room but Ted Whitten was cheating so they got the umps to do it. If people are going to be offended about this with faux outrage then allow the away captain first pick and in finals the umps will do it.

People are so precious. We’ve lost all ability to laugh at ourselves and then it’s all about retribution when we think we’ve been offended. Eddie is a paid entertainer. He makes lightweight banter to entertain TV viewers and if they get bored with him, they switch TV stations and then Eddie’s job is at risk. Sometimes the jokes miss their target as he rattles off the jokes. If you think about what you’re saying before you say it you miss the moment and the opportunity is lost. Sad that Eddie’s friendship with Adam Goodes is severed because of the reference to the King Kong stage show because Eddie is the least racist guy on Earth. People say things they either don’t mean or they use puns or play of words to make clever connections that they think will entertain, but others see another way that they see as a put down or a hurtful comment. The bottom line is that the intent is to entertain. He doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body (unless what he says is directed at the Carlton FC in which case you take 100% seriously).

As someone who both works with the disabled every day and is a long-time Collingwood member I found McGuire's comments last night re the coin toss to be absolutely disgraceful, embarrassing and his attempted apology pathetic.
A previous post actually described McGuire's comments as a "compliment". WTF.
