It gives us another year to find our next FF.

And bringing in the greatest indigenous player of all time also helps repair the clubs relationship with the indigenous community.

The down side is that he is 36 years old, but he still has it.

My initial reaction was no, and then I thought about it again and it’s still a no.

Apparently some pull towards family in Bris or Perth.

Initial speculation says he’s been lowballed by Sydney. Find that hard to believe. Maybe they are making way for Martin?

I don’t think the Pies should entertain it. Our club is a big enough sideshow at the best of times. We shouldn’t fall into the trap. If Ed was still running the show it could happen, but I think we have turned the hubris down a few notches. Stay the course, don’t be distracted from the process.

Good luck at Freo next year Buddy!

I think the AFL will orchestrate a way for him to get to the Gold Coast for a year or two to draw better crowds and membership.

$750k to plonk him in our forward line next year?

Where do I sign??

Absolutely I’d love him at our club!!

No co-incidence Sav Rocca had a massive season the year Dermie was there. Mihocek would love it!

For a bloke that has taken $15,000,000 out of payroll plus endorsements since 2005, to stonewall the Swans is the height of rudeness. Fancy asking for $800,000 as a 36 year old after ALL THE CASH he has been paid.

That’s a good point.

Let’s see if this story actually carries any weight. It has after all been “broken” by Robbo…

We'd win the flag with him at full forward, so it's a no brainer for me.

Even when he was younger, fitter and faster, the Swans never won a flag with Buddy at full forward, so why do you think he'd do any better with us?

I haven't seen a lot of him this year, but from what I have seen he's declined significantly from the abilities he had at at his peak (which is to be expected, given his age). Add another off-season and I think we're heading towards "Tony Lockett 2002 comeback" territory. Our team and the self-belief it's developing are good enough to not need gimmick signings, imo.
