With Nick Daicos set to return for our Prelim final, the big question is who will be the unlucky player to lose his spot? To my mind there are really only 3 possible exclusions.
1. Lipinski - since his shoulder surgery he's been down on last year's stellar form. He is still a valuable player, and has a knack of delivering the ball well to our forwards, but his lack of physical intensity may be his undoing.
2. Cameron - since his early season knee injury, he has not quite been at his best. He still is valuable in the ruck, and generally takes more pack marks than does Cox. The issue will be whether we decide to continue with 2 rucks, or just go with Cox, enabling us to retain Lipinski or Ginni in our starting 22.
3. Ginnivan - it would break many a Pie fans heart if Ginni was to lose his spot, but given that he was our sub last week, his spot will surely come under severe pressure with the return of Nick Daicos.
Fwiw, if I was coach, I'd leave out Lipinski, but Fly is a great fan of the lad and I suspect Ginni may be the one to lose out. |

Out Ginnivan and Lipinski. In Daicos and Noble as the sub. |

Lipinski seems most likely, but there are a few other that the selectors might look at:
• Dan McStay. Had a big third quarter and kicked two important goals, but even McRae admitted in so many words that he played poorly up until then. If we want to move our forward structure around and keep both rucks, does he become vulnerable?
• Oleg Markov. Hate to include him in this list and I’d be gutted if he were dropped, but he is playing Nick’s position from earlier in the year and might be unlucky if it’s seen as a straight swap.
• Beau McCreery. Again, love him, but has been a little down on impact in recent times. I reckon he’s more likely to go out than Ginnivan at this stage. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange

please get though the match sim about to start now at AIA centre unscathed and his is playing prelim.
Was told match sim starts at 415pm.
Nick to play 2 quarters only.
Huge crowd there on accounts there and first hit out since our QF win.
Match sims on till 5pm.
Quaters are 10-15minss long.
I assume its the black shirts v white shirts. |

Do they play extra time if scores are tied or will they come back next week? |

I’ve been thinking about it & thinking about and it’s impossible to pick.
Is there any chance it could be Tay?
Only reasoning is Ginnivan definitely stays sub, markov stays.
From what I’ve heard from fly (press conferences during the year) he loves Lipinski’s two way running & he loves WHE (not that he is in the mix).
So that doesn’t leave many others.
IMO Tay is very important but I don’t know who goes out for Nick. |

Lipinski's disposal inside 50 is silk, thats the thing, all other knocks on him notwithstanding. No way they drop a big man in McStay, McCreery could be unlucky, I think Ginni will stay in one way or another.

It's a shame. But Ginni would be my thought.
Patty to be sub. |

Horses for courses - depending on the size of the opponents, Markov may give way to Noble. |
