One grand final every three years

I could be wrong and it might be irrelevant to go back 120 years but it needs mentioning: we average a grand final roughly every three years. That’s bloody amazing!!! I know we’ve lost more than won but still it’s an incredible feat and begs the question of how we keep doing it.

Even this century its 6 GF (qualified) from 11 prelims. But outside of 2007-2012 it’s generally only been 2-3 year window when we have gone deep in September. This is why we need to strike and convert this opportunity as it presents itself now.

Some supporters ( usually the ones who support perennial cellar dwellers ) will tell you the only thing that matters is premierships but long before anyone thinks about premierships, you need to be competitive first.
That’s where the club should be proud of their achievements.

It's all about 'bang for your buck' and Collingwood are light years in front of any competition over the long haul.

It's very rare that we aren't in contention.

If we do it normally results in making it to prelims and grand finals in a few years time anyway.

It would have been nice to have won a few more premierships, but it can't be denied that this club has given us some great rides along the way.

The level of consistency we produce most years has been outstanding. I'm about to turn 30 over the next year, and I've already seen 6 Grand Finals in my lifetime.
