"Ossie Rules" by Richard Osborne with Michael Hyde.

I believe he's in Collingwood colours on the cover as it was released in 1998.

I found it years ago for $5 and I didnt take it. It must have been 1999/2000 or something like that.

Every so often I look for it on ebay, but it never comes up.

Yep, I have a copy! He was my favourite player when I was 8 or 9, so it was a treasured possession. Is there anything in particular you want from the book (e.g. scans or passages), or are you just looking to get hold of a copy to own?

The website ABE Books is good for hard to find books. All the independent book sellers are connected.

Found a copy in Brisbane: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=18117481268&searchurl=sortby%3D93%26tn%3DOssie%2BRules&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title1

Thanks guys.

Last night the website gave me some grief with my credit card, but it's turned out to be fine now after calling them today (The store in Brisbane).

Ended up costing me $30 tho Shocked

It says condition "Very Good" so I hope it's ok. You never know until you open the parcel.

It's not your typical player bio. It's fairly slight. Osborne sees himself as a bit of a strange cat, and it comes through a bit in this book and its style.

Michael Hyde, the book's co-writer, was a teacher of mine at Vic Uni back in the day, and I got my copy of the book from him. A bit of a strange cat himself.

Speaking of Magpies and books, what other hidden gems are out there?

I think I've got a decent collection, but there's usually always something out there you've never seen....

Do you have Peter McKenna's My World of Football? I remember having not one but two copies of it when I was younger (not sure if I still have either – I think I gave one to my late grandmother as a birthday present!)

There's also the Brian Taylor book: https://www.marlowesbooks.com/Black-And-White.-The-Taylor-Diaries-Taylor-Brian-Book-183279

Edit: quite a list of biographies/autobiographies here: https://www.readingaustralianrulesfootball.org/biographies.html

Only flicking through, but a few that jump out are Collingwood Forever by Gavin Brown (1997), Daicos: Collingwood and Me by Peter Daicos (1991), Ten Years in Black and White by Peter "Crackers" Keenan (1996), Big Al: Collingwood, the Untold Story by Jim Main (1996), A Shaw Thing by Tony Shaw (1990), The Other Side of the Medal by Len Thompson (1999) and Boots and All by Lou Richards (1963).

I fondly remember Ossie leading the Swans to a famous victory over the Dees at the SCG in front of 12 people, the first swans win in something like 40+ games...great player

No Kill for Collingwood or Collingwood 1892-1948 in your list. Time to start making suggestions to Santa.
