Admittedly, Melbourne are crap, and beat Essendon who showed last night that they are crap also.

But , this was a danger game given the caliber of players missing, so to come out and Deestroy the Dees was fabulous.

Now, all we need to worry about is the dreaded curse of the bye.

PS. Was very concerned when Wood left the ground with a Shoulder problem. Very happy he returned.

Malthouse said this week, we do not rely on players we rely in structures. Great win even though we beat a very soft team.

Good performance. Our big forwards were excellent, our key defenders were excellent (especially Taz), our midfield won easily despite missing two prime movers and arguably Pendles' worst game of the year. Only concern was our forward setup looked poor in the third. And even then, Melbourne couldn't get it out of our forward line. Good performances by fringe players like Bucks, Fasolo, McCarthy and Wood. Dids still looked a bit out of touch and I would have liked Blair to do more, but otherwise no complaints.

Great comment.

Despite some key players still under-performing, we had many step up to play their role.

Losing Jolly to injury has probably been a blessing as it (i) keeps Jolls fresh, and (ii) allowed Wood to carry the ruck and work himself into form.

I am starting to see why so many rated JMac.

The only downside - the large crowd that swells the coffers of the Dreamons. Shame 14,000 didn't turn up and they had to take a loss from the game. Teach them a lesson for biting the hand....

And Andy Maher......HAW HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. would like to see any other team win so convincingly minus seven of their best players including their ruck and their B&F from last year and their media anointed best from this year. Great win.

Always thought we would win this one convincingly but worried for a while that it would 'only' be a 50pt win. That sounds awfully arrogant but the desparation skill and party tricks we displayed against a pretty woeful effort looked like not bearing fruit on the scoreboad. What was 75 to 30 inside 50s? But I'm being a bit critical when we should be rejoicing. This is our team that is doing this week week out. Congrats to Fasolo on a great debut and to a magnificent effort from Welly to step up.

And don't worry about the bye heading into the Swans game; we have that every year and we're going for 10 in a row!
