Jeez, we are losing them now. ! Very sad, nice bloke, great guy, bit before my time watching footy. Played in the ruck, but had huge hands and could go all day. He was a good coach too, gave his all to us. Farewell Neil, RIP mate.

I am so sorry.

I bagged him in the past because he was Sherrin's boy and couldn't coach very well, but he was a Collingwood premiership player, played well in many finals and coached the Magpie reserves. He tried to give Bobby Rose a troll doll for good luck on grand final day, but Bobby rejected the gift and the rest is history...

Condolences to his family, to Collingwood footy club and to Magpies everywhere.

Sad news. I don't know much about him, but I have heard of him.

He had the honour to be a premiership player in our 1953 side, he was vice-captain from 1950 to 1955 and he was eventually our captain in 1956.

Condolences to his family.

Big hands, big heart, big loss! I can remember people cheering him when he came off the ground after quarter time and three quarter time and that was when he was COACHING the Reserves in the sixties. There was huge respect for him amongst the supporters and people were rapt when he got his chance to coach the Seniors after Bob Rose finished.

Thanks for the memories Neil!
