Well done Sinclair
He's unfairly been on the receiving end of some irrational criticism by many on Nicks this year, but I hope his performance tonight silences his critics. He was one clearly one of our best players, as he was last week, and has developed into a terrific rebound small defender and midfielder, one of our few players with genuine pace. Congrats to Bucks for sticking with this kid, and trying him in a new position after he lost some form as a forward. Well done Sinkers.

I assume you're not counting Heath for some reason. I'd take Marley over him too. Sinclair played well though.AN_Inkling wrote:A great win. Some of the best footy we've played all year.
Some really good contributors. But have to mention one of my favourite players: Sinclair is getting better and better in defense, and as he grows in confidence is now starting to give us some great drive. Clearly our best small defender at the moment.

The performance of the year against the bastards who deserve it the most.
A superb effort after a slow start. Swan played his best game for a long while (20 contested possessions says it all), Cloke again shows what a gun he is, Reid was mega (possibly our most important player now), Pendles important, Hudson gallant, Witts promising and Sinclair showed that he's going to be a very, very good player for us for a long time.
Watching MM lose it made my weekend and two wins over these mongrels has made this year worthwhile.
We're good enough to beat anyone when we bring the desire and aggression we did tonight, without it we're an also ran. I reckon we can bring tonights passion for the rest of the year and when the personnell all returns then who knows what may happen then?
Whatever, the boys made me very proud tonight.

Not sure what others think, but to my mind, after Reid was moved up forward, that was the first time we've had a properly functioning forward line for the year.
It's amazing how well the midfield performs when they have confidence in the forwards they're kicking to. Waites injury, which freed up Reid to play forward, could prove the turning point in our whole season.

Coaching contrasts.
As Waite went off, Buckley swung Reid forward and directed Swan to move between the forward line and on ball, and Steele played more off half back. A coach making changes in response to evolving circumstances in a game and therefore exploiting the opposition's weakness.
Contrast with Mick's stubborn sticking to his initial game plan. Refused to move his small forward line about when they were struggling, Judd continuing to play a cheap outside role, Murphy clearly mentally 'injured' and still directed to play largely in a contested role when he was not up to it, he persisted with Mitch Robinson as a weird utility rather than make him accountable.
The beautiful irony of seeing Reid turn the tide.

There's a few Posters missing here isn't there......those who rejoiced all week in the "club turmoil". Funny how they slink away.
And how about Mick before the game interviewed by Watson.
He says " I reckon a lot of collingwood supporters paid at the gate tonight, and guess where that money goes to.......us."
Well guess what you miserable old spiteful prick.....you can have the gate takings, and we'll take your pride, your 2013 chances your pants and the frickin 4 points bitch.
Keep making all the quips you like.....your team of high draft picks is shit.
