This is a disgrace that it's been moved. Thinking about giving up on Nick's. It's become to political. might try Hotrods or big footy
Well the one I always think of is the Port Adelaide final in 2002. It was just one of the most disciplined team performances that I have ever witnessed - be it in football or any other team sport - NB

I have to say I was disappointed by the lack of consultation on this. It's not really a change anyone asked for, and comments during and after the process just seem to have been ignored. To top it off, once the forum was created, there was no attempt to publicise it in General Discussion. Not even a token two-week locked sticky thread.
I don't want to go on a mod-bashing exercise here. They do a great job for little reward. But a bit of respect for the desire of Nick's BB's members wouldn't go astray. Is it too late to have a poll about this? From my position it seems there's a lot of discontent about the decision and precious little support.

Yes. collie dog makes some darn good points, it is getting a little over the top at times, all this movement and amalgamation of threads. I was pissed off when the mighty, all time, Laugh at carlscum thread got moved into death valley, where few of us go to, that was a fantastic thread, and should have remained here for decades to come. !!

I agree completely. I only come to General Discussion. You know, the place you'd think to go if you want to speak about general footy issues of interest to Pie supporters.
It feels like Nick's is dying when you drop into GD and find nothing on topics of huge interest.
Hopefully the mods aren't too proud to go back to the way things were. Under that system I saw a handful of complaints, sure, but nothing like I've seen in this thread alone.
I hope we haven't lost the site we loved at the prompting of a noisy few.

I was wondering what was going on with the GD/Nicks?
Given all the various headings etc it seems that the GD is more of a temporary staging place akin to Manus... except of course the 'move' processing is much much quicker!
I am not sure about the details of how long a subject stays on the GD before a move is actioned but I would suggest give it a week and then file it away as needed to the designated zone.
Personally I find the specific zones on Nicks a bit much... I would also say from a quick review of the various sections etc that they do not generate the same kind of organic and popular conversations that GD used to!

The answer is yes. I have a BF account now since a couple of months ago. I still come to Nick's, but have found particularly since the 'Other AFL' forum has been enforced, that Nicks has become pretty stale. A lot of interesting threads have been shunted from general discussion only to die in the Other AFL forum.Cuthbert Collingwood wrote:Dare I say it - is Nick's losing posters to Bigfooty? Is this our own version of the "bump" rule?
This is one topic I can agree with the spindog on.

^ Surely things aren't that bad. Nick's is still a thriving community and still by far the most popular Collingwood bulletin board on the internet. Let's channel this frustration into something more constructive.
I've started a thread below to that end. Please post any suggestions you have for the improvement of the bulletin board here. At the end of the day, the bulletin board exists for its members; as members, let's do what we can to make it what we want it to be.
