Quite clearly you're in*ane if you believe this man will ever coach us to a premiership, we all know this will never happen - he must be sacked now.jackcass wrote:Said previously, Bucks has this season to show improvement. 3 games in doesn't constitute a season. Well, waddya' say? Having endured that by radio, I'm not inclined to watch the replay to make any serious assessment!
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

I honestly believe I could have coached a win against the Pies today with Essendon's list. Being there live and watching it, it was very clear that Richo's gameplan was as simple as it can get in footy; defend man on man when you don't have possession, run and spread like crazy when you do. That's it. It really was that simple to beat us. This zone doesn't work. Far too many Saints players were loose and in the Buckley era, I dare say we would have had the most number of sub 15 second coast to coast goals scored against us. Our robotic handballing along around the ground leaves us open to destruction. Too many times we needed to kick it out of danger to a contest or space, but chose to handball to players 2 metres away who have the same option down the ground. Why do our defenders give opposition forwards metres of space when chasing for a chance to spoil a mark? It's the same week after week. We need someone in the Maxwell role. A gutsy sweeper who plays loose and watches the ball coming in to cut off the leads of opposition forwards. Darcy Moore bothers me. Forget the romanticism for a moment and watch him play. Does he think footy is as simple as sticking your hands straight up in the air and jumping at the ball? Looks amateurish when contesting for marks. May just be that he doesn't know how to position his body yet. I also have to wonder if we do enough opposition analysis each week. We never target dangerous players and look like we are seeing the opposition for the first time every time we play them. We have a lot of work to do and a lot of honest answers to be given to some very tough questions. It's time to find out who wants to be out there and winning and also if our coach can actually coach, or if he is just a tactition with a gameplay that this group of players can't grasp.
The only stat that matters is whether you win or lose.

That was terrible
I dont judge a side till after round 6
Players good
Reid
Oxley decision making still slow at times due to lack of experience
Langdon improving
Aish a lot better than last week
Goodyear nice debut
Greenwood at least he tried
Average
Grundy
Treloar
Crisp better than last week
Brown
Poor
Maynard cannot kick
Williams cannot kick but did get injured
Pendles cannot play that injured
Cloke
Moore compare him to Gault
Blair worst game in years
Adams
Goldsack always takes a few games to get to average
Fasolo missing
Howe didnt do anywhere near enough for a 100 gamer
We got smashed at clearances the inside mids did ok but the outside mids did nothing effective.
Sidebottom and Varcoe will improve this as would an injury free Pendles

buckley will be the first person to put his hand up and say it's not working. he will do the right thing by the club and resign if he knows he is not the way forward. his one year contract extension (reportedly at his behest) is evidence of this. no need to pull any trigger just yet.AN_Inkling wrote:I've been pretty positive about Buckley's prospects, but all the way through a lack of onfield organisation has been a problem. The fact that it is still our major problem must sit with the coach. Things need to improve very dramatically, very quickly or we need to look elsewhere.
A lot here are saying that Ed won't make the move. I think he will, we loaded up for a big season this year and if it disappoints, Buckley will be gone. We're not as bad as we looked today and I've no doubt we will improve, but it will need to come soon if Buckley is to keep his job.

If a team like St. Kilda can so comprehensively destroy us in almost every facet of the game, then we are in for some serious pain against the premiership contenders- which collingwood will never be under Buckley! Zero pressure all across the ground, barely any of the selected players can kick, it was a disgusting to watch. Bye bye Maynard, Blair, Fumblesack, Badyear, hello Sidebum, Varcoe, Toovey

we were ok in the first half but got blown away in the third and couldn't quite peg it back in the last. no doubt some will call me delusional but i didn't think we were out of the game until sinclair goaled. at times we are a very difficult team to watch - there's no escaping that - but you can see glimpses of what we can look like when we get the execution right. there might be a need to tinker with things but there is certainly no need to tear the place down. we're three games in and could well be 5-3 by round 8.Culprit wrote:Interesting game and for people that bagged Richo the coach, all I can say is time to eat humble pie. His nothing team just pulled our teams pants down and gave it to us with no lube. There is an issue at Collingwood FC and they best sort it out. This reminds me of the mid 80s. A lot can happen in a week, but geez bruise free footy at its best is worrying. A win next week evens it up but I would actually like to see the team perform to its potential.
Sleep on it, the sun will come up tomorrow and let's look to next week.
For those who bag the naysayers? What's your thoughts this week?

The frustration, disappointment and anger are because there is little to see in the form of improvement.
We are playing disjointed football and have been for a very long time.
How many games have we on since mid 2015?
That is the true reflection of where we are at as a team.
We are woeful and what the coaching staff have attempted to implement over the last few years is clearly the wrong plan.
But it's all ok, coz we can still stick our heads in the sand.

I jinxed them- they were going alright up until half time-AN_Inkling wrote:I'm certain you wouldn't be saying that if we just lost to the Suns by 54 and only scored 5 goals.matrix10 wrote:I am watching Carlton- and am more impressed with what their players bring to a game than ours.
