But 4 injuries and WE'RE BACK!!! like the pea hearted muppets that they are.All they while they forgot that the coach that some of them want,Bomber, took 7 years before he tasted coaching success. Malthouse 10 years, but having no common sense is no excuse when you are just a common was troll.I'll say this "Newbie"Twiggy.Nathan Buckley should not be insulted by the likes of you when it comes to not knowing about battlefields when he has a record like this. He will taste premiership success and hopefully the trolls, who will have changed names several times by then, will be gone.
Voss had a record similar to that, and 3 PREMIERSHIPS to go with it. At least Brisbane had the brains to sack him. Same with Hird, look how that turned out.
Records like this mean nothing when you cant coach.
McGuire is so far up Buckley's clacker, he cant sack him. They're a package deal.
IMPACT INJURIES TO PLAYERS:
Scharenberg
Ramsay
Langdon
Broomhead
Swan
Elliott
Moore
Fasolo
(last week Crocker in the 3rd)
Goldsack
Howe (missed early games)
SOFT TISSUE:
Varcoe (4 weeks missed)
Adams (3 weeks and won't be back anytime soon)
Brown (missed a couple)
Concussion:
Sinclair (missed 3)
Gault (missed 4)
JUST SHIT, and not showing any leadership:
Cloke
Toovey
You are kidding yourself if you think ANY coach can be competitive with these injuries and lack of on field leadership.

Park the injuries to one side.
You don't care about the wins or losses if players bust a nut.
There was no buy in.
Players were coasting again.
You also want to see a gameplan and structure that holds up.
9 goals in the goal square.
15 marks in our D50.
Injuries don't excuse those facets.
That is a total break down of your systems.

Spot on! I would rather see Marsh making those mistakes as they can't be any worse, given it is very unlikely were are going to win a flag in the next couple.Bob Sugar wrote:Toovey struggles to execute a simple handball from close range, and don't get me started on his kicking, needs to play the year out in the 2s and then delisted, he's a spud.
Toovey is not required.

True, we never have a settled side, never, not even jock McHale or norm smith could do any better right now, with this carnage of injuries that never seem to end, and incidentally, taylor adams is now out for six weeks, so he said today, not sure bout moore and fasolo.

You cannot 'park the injuries aside' as players like Adams are the ones who co-ordinate and organise the backline.Gonzalo wrote:Park the injuries to one side.

They are the ones who communicate the expectations and structures to the others.
You are being very naive if you think injuries to leaders on all lines are excuses for losses like today.
*FACT* We have won EVERY game since Buckley moved ADAMS to defense (and looked like winning before he was injured against the DOGS).
Adams was our GENERAL in the backline and it was EXTREMELY evident how much we lacked his leadership.
Forward line - extremely evident how much we missed FASOLO's defensive efforts and straight kicking. Extremely evident how much we missed Moore's straight kicking and defensive pressure.
Injuries are not an excuse mate, they are a valid reason for the shit you witnessed today. We aren't a club like Hawthorn who has that much EXPERIENCE all over the ground to cover injuries to CRUCIAL players.

Witts missed games due to injury.
Are people delusional? How is Buckley supposed to win with that?
Your man Toovey will not survive slection next week and will make way for Goldsack or Williams.

IMPACT INJURIES TO PLAYERS:
Scharenberg - has played 4 games
Ramsay - yeah, but still very raw
Langdon - had been on the bong all season until injured, should have been dropped
Broomhead - yet to set the world on fire
Swan - give you that one
Elliott - give you that one
Moore - still raw, will be a champion
Fasolo - missed him today
(last week Crocker in the 3rd)
Goldsack - completely passed it
Howe (missed early games) - is playing great footy in a position we assured him he wouldn't have to play
SOFT TISSUE:
Varcoe (4 weeks missed) - was missed
Adams (3 weeks and won't be back anytime soon) - ditto
Brown (missed a couple) - well, I suppose he couldn't be any worse than Frost
Concussion:
Sinclair (missed 3) - hardly integral
Gault (missed 4) - so what?
JUST SHIT, and not showing any leadership:
Cloke - agree, shouldn't be at the club
Toovey - passed it
You are kidding yourself if you think ANY coach can be competitive with these injuries and lack of on field leadership. - hardly top 4 material with the above in the side - the side that Bucks built.

Ramsay is our best small to medium defender and I would not call him RAW at all. He is ahead of Williams and Sinclair *IMV*, but has been cruelled by injury.Doc63 wrote:Daniel wrote:OK, I'll bite:Doc63 wrote: Shit post.

Scharenberg - will be one of the best intercept marks in the league, and readers of play with exquisite footskills, and is what our backline is SCREAMING out for.
Langdon - had about 3 shit games to begin the year, but so did Treloar, Pendlebury, Crisp, DeGoey, Blair - so I think it's pretty shit form from you to be single him out given his age.
Broomhead - no he hasn't set the world on fire, but I wouldn't mind a crumber up forward to compliment Blair, who cannot buy a goal.
Moore - better than Cloke in every aspect already and especially KICKING A GOAL - job of a forward!
Fasolo - won't see him for 10 weeks, with a fractured scapula so the carnage will continue.
Goldsack - whether you think he is completely past it or not, would offer more leadership, flexibility, attacking pace than Toovey.
Brown - I would rather persist with Frost, who yes has played a couple of shit games this year, but is far less reactive than Brown, younger and more scope for improvement. Having said that I would drop him to the VFL for 3 weeks to work on his craft, and Bring in Brown instead (if he remebers to bring his footy boots and not the ice-skates he brought to the WCE match).
Sinclair and Gault - I agree neither are integral, but can be good role players provided they are surrounded by LEADERSHIP (which they are not).
You can also add Williams and Witts to players that have had extended injury.
What I am more referring to is the collective, not any particular individual - which you are focussing on.
With that many casualties this year - FMD - I challenge you to tell me which coach could do better?

Yep, ultra-low quality contribution from Bob Sugar to the most consistently interesting and well-informed poster on this site.... Very easy to hang shit on a coach you loved after the Geelong game?
I think a lot of supporters are pathetic, not Buckely.
Buckley adapted, he swung Adams back, swung Howe back.
We beat Essendon after Buckley swung Adams back and Pendlebury seemingly got on top of his rib injury.
Adams missed the next 2 and we lost.
No shame in losing to Carlton as we have seen recently.
BTW - our side against Carlton was one of the weakest fielded.
Then we beat Brisbane, beat Geelong, and would have beat the Bulldogs, had it not been for the Adams injury 3 minutes into the 3rd qtr. Crocker injury. Fasolo injury and Moore injury and combined with the Toovey injury left our interchange bench absolutely BARE in the crucial 4th qtr when players are spent.
What did you expect this week missing our backline GENERAL and 2 LEADING GOALKICKERS on top of existing injuries. Some supporters here are way more pathetic than Buckley's efforts as coach.

I'd say you should keep sucking on the things you suck.Speaking of which,Brisbane were sucking on the teat of the AFL and were able to keep the same team for 5 years which encompassed 3 brownlow medal winners multiple All Australians most of the 2& 3 time premiership players and a full forward who was not only allowed to use a banned substance,he was encouraged to do so as it could"Improve his life style". Any other club would have to have divested 5 or 6 of these players to stay under the salary cap and if your mind can wonder that far back you'll recall that ,but for an atrocious goal umpiring decision and a free kick in the dying minutes of the match a Brisbane full forward who was allowed to take banned substances after missing the most blatant free kick not awarded to Chris Tarrant to put us 2 goals in front,Buckley would indeed have had a premiership medallion. But I digress .Go follow the lions .They deserve you.Bruce.Doc63 wrote:mudlark wrote:Go suck on another "lollipop"!!Magpietothemax wrote: Why attack a new contributor like this? Not that they are ready for AFL, but apparently Sier has a broken hand and Wyatt was mysteriously absent from VFL selection this week.
We really are struggling with injuries again when you look not just at the length of the list and timeframes but the quality and importance of the players out.
