Agree with all those posts who point to our complete lack of organization. Today we reverted to the very darkest days of the early part of this season, where we guarded space and had no idea who was responsible for which Richmond player. There is a complete absence of synchronization between our midfield and our forward line.
Our delivery into forward 50 and our general field kicking was abysmal, far inferior to Richmonds.
why was our style of play so utterly different from last week, when we locked on our opponents, guarded the man, and fought for the contested ball so ferociously?
Did our coaches actually instruct our guys to revert to that dumb zoning sh**?? Is this possible in the real world?
This game was a real indictment. An indictment of the coaching strategy and an indictment of the abysmal level of kicking skills that our coaches have not addressed in the last 2 to 3 years.
Step back and look at the broad sweep. We have made no progress over the last 2 years. The wins against Top 8 sides this year have been more than negated by pathetic performances against very mediocre opposition such as tonight. One gets teh feeling that a Bolton or a Richardson would have had this team performing far better than what we are witnessing right now.
I hate to say I told you so,but I knew we would lose tonight. We are just so mentally weak and so poorly coached we never ever perform against a team with their backs to the wall. You could see this result coming a mile off,and the boys didn't let us down.So predictable.
That was very disappointing. I thought Grundy was the only good big man in our team. Cox, White, Cloke, Reid and Brown were all disappointing. Other experienced players to badly disappoint were Blair and Greenwood. Jeez, Cox has a long way to go to become a senior player doesn't he. I expect we might get smashed in our next 3 games. Maybe our players are now waiting for the off season. Overall, very poor. The only bright lights were Aish and Wills. By the way, I noticed today that Wills actually has some pace.

Don't agree. Our players are not mentally weak. They have demonstrated immense courage time and time again. But they are abysmally coached. There is no doubt in my mind after witnessing the inept approach to this game.

I can't understand why we went back to the shitty zone this week, why?
