Umps are pathetic.
Good point
Should be banned
After Trealor was CLEARLY Kneed in the head and back by the sniper, which should have been a free to us and a forward entry,He was the CLEARLY held while on the mark. This is umpiring 101.You don't even need a whistle for these blatant kicks. I hope Buckley has the guts to call the cheating filth out.And Hodge as well.
Yep. But for some reason we don't have the bells to call this shit out.

At least also, we go out with heads held high, and honour. Unlike the pathetic twenty goal losers the deeees and tigers, and pathetic bluescum. I'm proud of our young team, the future is very bright, if we can just get some luck on the injury front, at long last.

I want to be all glowing and happy, but the lasting image of the game is Hodge rising both arms in the air in triumph....AGAIN.

There are no honour is losing to these guys, no matter the circumstances. We are now in the same situation as Hawthorn against Geelong after 2008. No matter how close, it was always a loss.

Our boys have to win, plain and simple.

I just hope that one day soon we will improve by cutting out 50% of all our howling errors that cost us goals. Some players are serial offenders, we know who they are. When that happens i think we will be a serious football team capable of beating anyone consistently. Until then every season will be like this, nearly, almost but never quite.

Gutsy effort but heart breaking.

On to 2017. I think Cloke & Marley (save for a few howlers between them) had a real crack. Marley was awful for most of the game and cost us a chance to win at the end with that horrible kick to our HF line, but he attacked the ball hard in the last and there may be hope for him. We need to replace Brown, his kicking kills us, but he did defend well one-on-one, so I guess he stays but he either needs to improve his kicking penetration or we need to find a fast replacement. Varcoe has had a poor season, needs to get more aggressive. Greenwood was hard today, really good game. There is lots to like but I just hope we can get full seasons from Reid, Fasolo & Elliot in 2017 and get all the young guys to take a step up and show real improvement.

Go Pies in 2017!!! Go GWS in 2016!

Don't be proud of that, I certainly hope the players are not......IDIOTIC mistakes cost them a football game.
Sure  Brown was very good, shut his man almost completely out of the game.

It's definitely a game to be proud of. With 10+ of our best 22 missing we almost got the job done against Hawthorn in their most important game of the year.
Agree, Brown very good, wasn't the Dawks KPFs who hit the scoreboard. Made the 1 mistake as I remember it and that was the kick across HB.

Ditto Williams. People must be watching different games. Without Williams attack on the footy in the last, we don't get close.

Like I said in the other thread. That performance reminded me alot of the final round in 2000 when we played Essendon, two years after that we were in a gf.
