Frost for mine, more mobile, but actually think Dunn is better than both, although not by a huge margin.Boogie Knights wrote:If we're to go back to the general commentary on this board through the season, Brown or Frost?RudeBoy wrote:We could probably do worse than Dunn at full back, but I just can't think who that would be.Rush Stand Wing wrote: Yeah most likely or an exchange of picks.
So its looking like Keefe or Dunn at FB...if and when required. We could do worse.

There in lies the essence of our issues. Over rating players on our list.Geek wrote:... and yet that's the reality. Unfortunately no other club has expressed any interest in Cloke at all, which means we have virtually no bargaining power.
We have 1 elite player on our list Pendles that's it.
We have a hand full of good players (A-B grade consistently) and the remainder are either up and coming with loads still to prove but have shown potential or they are serviceable get a job done types that aren't going to be remembered in the years to come other than as a trivia question.
2yrs ago Jason Dunstall said trade Cloke we all scoffed and ridiculed him. What did Cloke do the last 2 seasons ?
And what's his trade worth ? 1 club wanting to give us a pick that basically has no value what so ever for points for getting father sons
If we sent 90% of our list to market the values would be 2nd rounder or less with a large portion being less.
See the Hawks have basically used up all the value they had in Lewis and Mitchell but the huge difference is they got 4 premierships from them which will offset the low draft picks they got in return and to be honest it was more about clearing salary cap space than the players themselves being washed up (they did finish 1&2 if there B&F)
There's probably 12-14 sides who if they remained injury free and had good season could make the 8 next season and we are one of them for sure.
There's a strong eliment of luck needed for any club but those clubs who actually 3 or 4 elite players (or consistent A+ players) find ways to get the best out of them.
We have players who in a couple years may become elite like Treloar Grundy Moore & hopefully Ben Reid again and several others like Aish DeGoey Adams Ramsay Scharenberg Mayanrd who have shown the potential but need really press on hard and continue to develop to be consistent A graders and back up our elite players.
The best sides have those players who lift the level of the player around them and that's what we need to be aiming to have.
The potential is there but there's still loads of water to go under the bridge in the next 2 seasons to see if this list has a GF appearance in them

The Dogs are now offering a used band-aid for Cloke. Pies, take what ever is on offer and take the salary cap relief. As far as playing for the Pies he is COOKED. If Cloke had made half as much effort in getting fit as he did in securing his current contract he would be still playing for us weekly at AFL level.

He is cooked, but I wouldn't trade him on principle unless we can secure points for Brown and Daicos. He's not on much coin so we can carry him into next season and clear him at the end of 2017 when his contract is up. Why should we do any favours for the WB? Damn lucky they were premiers. GWS should have beaten them in the prelim. Sick of bowing down to other clubs, particularly clubs that can't stop skitting about their good fortune.Member 7167 wrote:The Dogs are now offering a used band-aid for Cloke.
