The end of an era.

Always with a wise cracking habit but a genuine concern and empathy for his fellow man. And full of integrity in his long marriage to Edna who went to God some years ago now.
And those nicknames; the flying doormat, the Macedonian Marvel, the galloping gasometer...All Louie the lip
What about the penalties when one of his tips was wrong?
Diving into the bay and swimming at 5.00 am. Cutting Teddy Whitten's lawn with nail scissors. Louie and his kiss of death.
So much fun but a great football analyst at the same time...

Vale a great man.

Sad news, but he did have a good and long life. He is the last link to the McHale era, the very last link to that great period of Pies superpower, its closed now forever. He was a very witty and funny guy, and he sure loved the Pies with a passion, I'm so glad he lived to see his statue outside our headquarters, next to his mate bobby rose. Rest in peace Lou, the three wise monkeys are together again, Lou, jack, and bobby davis.

Just heard on the radio.

A very sad day, a great of not only our beloved club, but a giant of our great game and everything that entails.

He always made me laugh, and I have huge respect for the man.

Condolences to his family and friends.

What a legend. What a pro. Collingwood through and through. You brought hours of pleasure to many Lou. A great innings. Pity we couldn't have done better for you in your last game on this mortal coil.

RIP Lou, Collingwood & VFL/AFL legend.

Sleep at peace with Edna now.
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away
