It's the 26,000th thread on who or what HAL is since I started reading Nick's (to see whether we "landed" Woewoeful, I'm sorry to say) in that trade period all those centuries ago. Since the alternative was for the Mods to spend 6 years finding all the threads and merging them, consigning it to GFB was probably both efficient and kind.

Haha! And I remember misunderstanding a poster in the Bored Board and thinking they'd said that they'd met HAL in real life, and I was really curious.
