Lets just see if he gets charged, then found guilty.

I'm amazed in one way, yet mostly dissapointed at some of the vile crap posted on his facebook page. When did we go from the presumption of innocence to the assumption of guilt?

If he's found guilty i hope he pays for it big time, but even then I think there may be an uncomfortable back story

Prisons are predominantly filled with people born into disadvantage who commit a whole range of crimes.

What do your parents do for a living?

The people making racist and/or vitriol filled comments are nearly as offensive and alarming as the crime they're commenting on.

I'm surprised he's been named also as it isn't the norm prior to the person being officially charged once in custody so you have to wonder what the motivations are of the police and media in doing it this time.

The UK example is a good one of why the media and the general public shouldn't rush to judgement and just like that case if he is indeed innocent then he should be entitled to substantial compensation.

In a relatively short space of time the media went from a partially blacked out photo, to a full photo, then video, then naming him.

Names shouldn't be released at least until charges are made, not just on arrest.

Maybe it's just me but I find it a lot easier to hate the predatory piece of crap that killed Jill Meagher than a messed up kid, despite the end result being the same in that an innocent young woman has been violated then killed.

age is just a number, maybe the first killer was once a messed up kid too. both of these men knew what they did was wrong. the kid tossed his gear and ran away. he knew what he did was wrong. there was nothing in what happened that was about survival for him.
