I still reckon there's a good chance he gets off. Maybe 50%? What's clear is that it's a strange case with little precedent.

5pm. It'll be covered on afl.com.au.

And Toby is making the trip. (The plane must have arrived already if it's about to start.)

"Club sources said the Giants have not yet considered the question of the whether there could be legal action if the suspension is upheld on Thursday night."

They are becoming delusional.

If he gets off, AFL fans should take it into their own hands and stage protests at the games. I have a few ideas...

If he gets off maybe people should eye gouge Fuhrer Gillon as protest as it's not an indictable offence. Not a good look for AFL if he gets off, hey kids in Sydney, go play NRL rather than AFL as their code actually protects people against eye gouging and sanctions heavily against such dangerous onfield behaviour. Letting him off may do more damage to the AFL cause of taking support from NRL, than doing the right thing and upholding the suspension

Yep, 8 weeks in the NRL and many wanted it to be 16. His victim also testified for him that nothing happened. The NRL's man then asked him only one question: "Do you believe what happens on the field stays on the field?" He answered, "Yes."

Is George Pell's appeal listed after Toby's so he can "strip" for the Tigers tomorrow night?

There is of course the possibility that not only will the appeal tribunal uphold the conviction, but will consider 1 week suspension to be too lenient and increase it to more weeks.

One can hope.

1. MRO seems it worth my of a week.

2. Tribunal agrees; upholds the decision.

3. Appeals board disagrees with the AFL’s system (2X).

Yeah, can’t see it. Also, why should the third step override the first two steps in one fell swoop?

He's going to get off, just a feeling. Everyone, from media to opposition clubs, want him to get off, because he's playing us. It's unbelievable how irrational people's hatred of Collingwood is that they'd defend what Greene did as harmless. If he gets off, that's all the proof you need the AFL is corrupt and it's Collingwood vs the World.

Imagine if JDG did what Greene did.

It’s at a point that I feel sorry for anyone who comes to our club knowing they have to deal with this irrational crap. is close to tuning me off AFL football to the point that spite is the only thing that drives me to support the club anymore, just to watch other peoples’ anguish vs my own happiness, and that’s sad.
