I missed the first half but its evident our backline is well drilled and talented. These shorter games will benefit our injury prone players and all I can say is, that will equal a Grand final and Im betting this year is our year.

First half was brilliant, if not for some sloppy disposal and gifting them 2 goals, it would of been a near perfect half of footy.

2nd half we still had the saints measure but our forward entry was poor and didn't really put their defence under any real pressure.

All in all a great win and hopefully we get to play and win next week.

Very impressed with the pressure we imposed on the ball carrier. It was very reminiscent of the way we played in 2018. I hope this is the norm going forward. Last year, I felt like we regressed in this area as we opted to play more like the Eagles with their chip kicking game style which won them the flag in 2018.

The defensive unit is outstanding. Since round 20 last year, these are a 'points against' numbers:

Round 20 2019 vs Gold Coast = 51
Round 21 2019 vs Melbourne = 53
Round 22 2019 vs Adelaide = 48
Round 23 2019 vs Essendon = 65
Qualifying Final 2019 vs Geelong = 51
Preliminary Final 2019 vs GWS = 56
Round 1 2020 vs Western Bulldogs = 34
Round 2 2020 vs Richmond = 36
Round 3 2020 vs St Kilda = 37

Taking into account that quarters have been shortened this year, the rounds 1-3 numbers would be around 42-46 points conceded in normal 20 minute quarters.

The inclusion of Stephenson benefited the team greatly. He looked great in the first quarters and questions will manifest in why he didn't play against the Tigers last week. He could have been the difference in the result.

Grundy was excellent after some doubts over his fitness during the week. We won the clearances (32-21) and he nullified the influence both Marshall and Ryder had on the game.

Looking forward to when Cox and Treloar return to the team. I think Cameron and Wills are the weak links in the team.

Very good win....it was a bit of a danger game with the Saints coming off an impressive win last week.

We showed class, experience and composure throughout the game to get the win.

Cameron was disappointing.

Pendlebury was sensational once again.
Adams has been very good.
Defenders are super impressive. More than just the backbone of the team, they are also the most reliable and skilled.

My negative comments about certain
Players over the years has never been personal. I have only wished the best for any player that has pulled in the black and white, though some have frustrated me more than others.
One who was a frustration on a weekly basis has now developed into
A fine player who is now one of my favourites.....#37 Maynard.
His early career brain fades, slips, turnovers etc have been eliminated making him an absolutely integral part of our D50 and team.
Congratulations to him on his 100th game!!!!

Rejoined Kayo yesterday.

Impressive first half of football. I still think Thomas would have been preferable to T. Brown despite his "nice" goal. At the same time it gives T Brown needed match experience.

I have serious manlove for Sidebottom and Adams.

Next week will be interesting v GWS

With you all the way TP!!! I've never barracked for Carlton before, but I did in that game tonight. Not sure why actually -I think because Geelong come across as so arrogant and think they can't be beaten on their precious home ground.
What a strange round so far - Richmond and Geelong both get done unexpectedly, Weagles get beaten again. Now, we just need Freo to win tomorrow
