Johnson is actually clueless. He'd be a liability in the seniors, at the moment, despite his obvious physical attributes. He's just given away a 50, for no sensible reason.

Cox takes a mark and kicks a goal. Collingwood lead 4.3 to 2.7.

He injured Ceglar in the marking contest, too.

Begg with a big, crunching tackle on the wing.

For the most part, the 'pies' field-kicking has been atrocious.

Good forward pressure ricochets the ball out to Johnson who walks into an open goal.

6.5 to 2.7, now. 4 unanswered goals to the 'pies. Nice goal from Booth, marking a 50/50 ball about 25 metres out.

Begg wins the tap and puts it down Fowler's throat. He's coat-hangered.

And kicks Collingwood's 7th. That's five in a row, after it looked like Geelong's physical strength might run over them.

Callum Brown murdered them from the moment Ceglar stopped giving his mids an arm-chair ride. He had 4 clearances in that quarter. He's also laid 6 tackles.

I like Liam McMahon rebounding out of the backline. The long loping steps and the kicking technique is very Darcy Moore-like

Poulter quite so far?

Hopefully they sort him out in the twos before elevating him.

Thoughts on the senior-listed players at half-time:

Callum Brown is the best of them, again.

Wilson got into the play and looked threatening a few times. He put one beautiful pass to Cox in the first quarter but Collingwood got nothing from that. Some of his field-kicking has looked like he's dropping a pineapple onto the side of his boot. That isn't usual for him, which is why I mention it.

Bianco and Poulter have not been intense enough with their efforts.

McMahon is obviously being played down back to train up his defensive side. He is a forward.

Murley flashed in once or twice. Kicked a nice goal.

Chugg has been solid but hasn't done anything to stand out.

Johnson looks like he could suddenly start dominating at any moment - but mostly doesn't. One shot at goal indicates that he probably over-estimates his ability: he was kicking across the wind from about 50. Peter McKenna would have struggled with the shot and Johnson should not have attempted it. He has something but he just needs to learn to control it.

Draper is a long way off it, at the moment. Development year for him.

Cox looks too slow to play at this level. His size is, of course, always a problem and he does a nice thing or two, every so often, to remind us that he is better than he's mostly letting on.

I've liked Kelly's game, today. He was out of position at FB all through the last game. Today he's looked solid.

Begg is biggish (though not big enough for AFL ruck) and mobile and could actually become Leigh Brown in time. He was taken to the cleaners by Ceglar, early - but then Ceglar is a big man and has been doing this for a long time, so there's no shame in that. Begg is skilful and tackles hard. A few more runs at this level and you could see him imposing himself physically at senior level (maybe not this year).

I think that's all of them. Tyler Brown isn't playing - he's held over for the AFL game tonight.

Thanks P4S. Good to see Chugg overcame his complaint and was able to play. I take it Harrison is having a quite one?
