I remember when the Brisbane Bears and West Coast Eagles entered VFL just 4 years before AFL was formed
We played Bears and kicked the s:#~t outta them

But I’m interested in seeing Dean and Carmichael among others

Game details are in the OP.

Along with the link to the match centre which confirms venue etc.

At this stage no games are scheduled for Vic Park this VFL season.

The extended team is on the CFC App including Cameron Wild. Is he son of Jason Wild?

The app says we’re playing a Brisbane father son prospect Noah Bradshaw as our 23rd man. No idea how that works!

Either way will be great to see Charlie Dean line up with Kelly and McMahon down back. Can’t remember the last time we had 3 tall defenders in a CFC team let alone the VFL. Hoping Ash Johnson has a better run today and Josh Carmichael shows a bit more too
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Team selection:

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1 ... -after-bye

Charlie Dean and Jack Madgen return to the VFL after injury.

NOTE: There are often changes to the team listed. Check the game day link to confirm who is playing.

Cameron Wild is listed as an emergency. He is Jason Wilds son, was part of the Carlton Next gen Academy for a while, played for Bushrangers in NAB U18 and Northern Bullants in VFL.

Noah Bradshaw plays for Bushrangers in NAB U18 (as an over age) and local footy in Wodonga. Eligible to be drafted via free agency by Lions. Opportunity for both clubs to have a look at him during this game.

23rd man:

"The 23rd man for AFL/aligned clubs will have to be under the age of 20 as of 1 January 2022 and play in the NAB League or Northern Academy.

However, for standalone sides there is no requirement to field a 23rd man and if the side wishes to do so, there is no restriction on who can be fielded with the player coming from the primary or development list."

Our VFL backline is now an interesting dynamic. With all of Kelly, McMahon, Dean and Madgen available, the coach is almost obliged to play one of them up forward to compensate for the lack of height in the forward line.
Might be worth keeping an eye out to see if any of them are considered forward material ( Kelly looms most likely, although Madgen is selected as the forward in that group )
Let’s hope Dean gets some continuity and we get to see plenty of him in the run home
Play well, lads.

In the case of Magden the form of Murphy and possible elevation of Dean sometime soon would he be tried in the forward line (or other positions) as he’s no certain to rejoin the AFL back 6

I'm trying to watch the game thru the AFL site but they are showing the bulldogs-box hill game. Anybody able to view the Collingwood game elsewhere?
