Good side we have lined up today.
Madge, Kelly, Dean, McMahon and Jetta present a strong defensive unit, particularly compared to the line-up we had against Casey.
A midfield of 6.T Brown and 45.Carmichael and 17. C.Brown is a strong as we've listed for some time, some hard nuts in there.
I'll be interested to see how 26.Connor McFadyen and 36.Rhys Mathieson go for the Lions. I won't be surprised if either look for a new home next year in order to crack into senior footy. Both offer size and goal kicking as mid-fwd options.

There’s a lot of AFL experience in that Lions side but the Pies have come back reasonably well in the second quarter. Lions 30 - Pies 20 half way through the second. Unfortunately, I can’t do this game justice today with U18s Vic metro and the Allies playing but from the stats, Poulter and Carmichael are getting plenty of it and Dean seems to have started well with a bit of it and few marks to boost his confidence. Madgen seems to have started forward as was selected.
Gary Player “ the harder I practice, the luckier I get “
Begg is up against Darcy Fort who has played a fair bit of AFL for the Lions this year. He’s also a tall ruckman ( if you get my gist ) where Begg is almost the opposite for a ruckman. Begg has him for mobility but that doesn’t mean much if it’s tapped straight down a Lions throat.npalm wrote:Ruckman are usually invisible to me, but you really notice it when you get a good one versus a bad one. Lions have had multiple centre clearances as a result of ruck dominance.
Not knocking Begg, he's young and undersized.
