If the punishment is not severe enough, the thug will boast for the rest of his life that he once broke an ex-Pie's jaw.

No problem if he is, but the Police aren't going to charge him without a complaint. If Dunn goes into his local Police Station and makes a complaint, they'll act accordingly. If he doesn't, they won't take any action.

Duck the unspoken footy “code”, charge him Dunny! Pretty sure police can act with video regardless. Players need to stand up and get thugs charged with assault, it’s the only way it’ll change. I don’t get the player code what happens on the field stays on the field, don’t snitch on other players, etc. **** that and **** this guy, I want to see him in court squirming in his seat.

True, Stui.

I think Dunn should consider it. This goes way beyond the spirit of the game.

Police can act with video, or a complaint from an observer, but if the victim declines to make a complaint, their hands are tied.

You belt your partner in the supermarket, it's on CCTV, someone calls 000, someone else has it on their phone. Cops come and your partner refuses to make a complaint, they can't/won't press charges.
