Yes, it is certainly more favourable to play either PA or Brisbane on the G, but the form of Max Gawn is a big worry, especially with our Mason now out of form. Not sure that we can play Darcy Cameron by himself against Gawn in this kind of form. Hope that Mason goes back into the VFL and recaptures form over the next 2 weeksswoop42 wrote:Melbourne winning only increases the chances of us playing Brisbane or Port in week 1.
I'm happy with this.

That’s twice in 3 weeks he has picked this team up and carried them to victoryJezza wrote:One of the greatest ruck performances from Gawn.
In there wins since Grundy was dropped they’ve averaged 102 points a game when Grundy played they averaged 68 points in winning
It’s scary how good they are without the lead weight around there neck
Fritch, Oliver and Brown all still to come back in
That would make Grundy about #28 in the pecking order for a senior game
Only way he plays is if Gawn has both legs amputated both arms in casts and has taken 23 gun shot wounds then it would be a long debate at selection table
Rumour has it Port has said they would consider Grundy but wouldn’t part with anything higher than a 3rd pick and only prepared to take on around $400k of his salary
If that’s the case Melbourne would need to eat about $400k a season to get rid of him
Makes our paying $150k a season (averaged we paid $750k this season to Melbourne so they could rework his deal into there cap)
We all know football produces some good rumours but listening to Buckley the other week talk about how Grundy wouldn’t make it as a forward then hearing from a source Melbourne internally have had issues with him being unprepared to take onboard any advice or tips on improving his game both as a forward or ruck
Rumour has it he has no interest in being a forward and has said as much to them and tips offered to improve his ruck work has fallen on death ears as well

I find it hard to believe that Harrison Petty/Melsham will be able to repeat this kind of a performance though. What'sinaname wrote:Yep, Melbourne are starting to look ominous. Excellent backline, top shelf mids, a dominant ruck and now, some dangerous forwards.
However, they have Oliver and Fritsch to return.
Definitely hitting an ominous level of form.
